Teachers

For the French school curriculum, teachers hold a recognised teaching qualification in France and teach in French (except sometimes for specific foreign language courses).

For the International Section curriculum, , the teachers’ mother tongue is usually that of the language of the Section and their teaching qualification is recognised in the Section’s country.

In many cases, International Section teachers attend regular professional development courses and seminars to stay abreast of pedagogical trends in the partner country.

In accordance with the tradition in many countries, International Section teachers often fulfil additional roles within the Section, such as Department Head for a subject, student guidance, supervision of extra-curricular activities, or management of the Section.
