Curriculum

  • Apart from the Language / Literature and History / Geography exams, every OIB exam is identical to those taken for the regular French Baccalaureate, in the penultimate and final years (Première and Terminale), and carries the same coefficients.
  • The Language / Literature exam is taken at the end of the final school year (Terminale) in the language of the International Section concerned; this replaces the LV1 exam (Langue Vivante 1) of the French Baccalaureate.
    Its coefficient varies depending on whether the student is in the L (Literature), ES (Economic/Social) or S (Science) stream:

  • The History / Geography exam is taken at the end of the final school year (Terminale) in the language* of the International Section concerned and it replaces the History / Geography exam of the regular Baccalaureate. This exam covers both the French curriculum as well as that of the International Section.Its coefficient varies depending on whether the student is in the L (Literature), ES (Economic/Social) or S (Science) stream:

  • The International Option of the Baccalaureate (OIB) is an exam recognized by all major Universities and faculties because :

a)  the topics and subjects taught in the International Sections are of a standard comparable to that of the equivalent end-of-school exams in the partner countries, and

b)  the International Option has the same standing as the regular French Baccalaureate
